If the BMW M4 CSL isn’t ‘in your face’ enough for you, then check this out – the Manhart MH4 GTR II.

Manhart has had a busy year in 2022. We’ve documented most of their upgraded performance offerings, which you can view here, but now it’s time for BMW’s new halo car to get the tuner treatment.

The BMW M4 CSL is a rather striking car to look at it in the first place, but following its Manhart makeover, we’re sure it’ll prove to be more divisive than ever. Accompanying the traditional Manhart black finish, there’s a generous splash of decals added into the mix too, designed to accentuate the M4 CSL’s bold styling.

Those sculpted lines are made more aggressive than ever before, thanks to Manhart’s 18-piece carbon body kit. This adds a new ‘GTR bonnet’ with extra vents, a revised rear wing, and several other aero features, including louvres, canards, and a diffuser.

On top of that, H&R coil springs give the Manhart MH4 GTR II a lower stance compared to a standard CSL, while the 20-inch Yido Performance alloy rims are new too. As ever with this tuning house, the colour of those is left entirely down to the customer.

The MH4 GTR II is more than just a styling package though. From the BMW factory floor, an M4 CSL outputs 550hp – already a 40hp increase on the regular M4 Competition. The folks at Manhart HQ didn’t feel that that was enough though, so they’ve installed their own bespoke MHTronik ECU. This fine tuning of the S58 engine’s software unleashes its full potential, bumping the car’s peak output up to 702hp and 649lb ft of torque!

The extra horses are complemented by an aftermarket stainless steel exhaust system, the tips of which can be either carbon or ceramic coated. As is the case with many other Manhart models, you can get multiple variations of that exhaust system. This includes de-cat and sports cat flow solutions.

Oh, and just to sweeten the deal a little bit, Manhart will throw in a carbon fibre helmet, free of charge.
