Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni has finally pulled the covers off one of the most anticipated drift builds of recent years. Swapping Toyota’s three-cylinder powertrain for a fire-breathing 2JZ, wrapping it in Rocket Bunny Pandem bodywork and packing over 1,100bhp under the bonnet, this GR Corolla is built for one thing – going sideways.

Introduction

When Toyota launched the GR Corolla, it didn’t take long for enthusiasts to start imagining just how far the platform could be pushed. Few, however, would have predicted this.
Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni and the team at SB Motorsport have transformed Toyota’s already impressive hot hatch into what could quite possibly be the ultimate drift-spec GR Corolla. It’s louder, wider, faster and considerably more outrageous than anything to roll out of the factory, and after months of teasing the project, the finished car has finally been revealed ahead of its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
As we’ve come to expect from Baggsy, this isn’t just a cosmetic makeover. Every aspect of the car has been re-engineered with one goal in mind: creating a world-class competition drift car capable of putting on a show wherever it goes.

Styling

If there was ever any doubt that this Corolla means business, the Rocket Bunny Pandem widebody immediately puts that to bed. The dramatically widened arches, deep front splitter, aggressive rear diffuser and towering rear wing completely transform the GR Corolla’s appearance, giving it a silhouette that’s every bit as wild as the machinery underneath. Fresh Seibon carbon fibre panels add even more visual drama while keeping weight to a minimum, and lightweight Plastics 4 Performance polycarbonate windows replace the factory glass. The finishing touch comes courtesy of Fleet Livery Solutions, whose striking new graphics package ties the whole build together, while bespoke forged STRÖM wheels wrapped in Accelera 651 Sport semi-slicks fill the oversized arches perfectly. Then there’s the exhaust. After asking his followers where it should exit, the overwhelming vote was for a bonnet-exit system. Naturally, SB Motorsport obliged.

Engine

Forget the GR Corolla’s turbocharged three-cylinder. Nestled beneath the bonnet now sits Toyota’s legendary 2JZ, fully built by DY Engine Services using premium internals supplied by JDM Garage. Forced induction comes via a Garrett G40-1150 turbocharger, controlled by a Turbosmart PowerGate 60 wastegate, while Sunoco E85R race fuel, delivered through a Radium Engineering fuel system and ASNU 1650cc injectors, ensures the engine has everything it needs to produce an astonishing 1,115bhp and 798Nm of torque.
Keeping temperatures under control is a bespoke Forge Motorsport intercooler and radiator package, assisted by Funk Motorsport heat management, while Walton Motorsport fabricated the custom turbo manifold. Engine management is handled by a Link FuryX ECU alongside an ECUMaster PMU-24 DL, giving the team complete control over every aspect of the powertrain. The result is one of the most potent 2JZ-powered drift cars ever built.

Chassis

Putting over 1,100bhp to work requires serious hardware. A Quaife 69G six-speed sequential gearbox transfers power through a Comp1 twin-disc clutch before reaching a Sikky x Winters quick-change differential mounted within a bespoke rear subframe. A full SW Motorsports roll cage provides the necessary rigidity and safety for competition use. Steering angle comes courtesy of FDF Raceshop’s lock kit, while ST Suspension XTA Plus 3 coilovers give Baggsy the adjustability needed to fine-tune the chassis for maximum commitment. HEL Performance brake lines, Stauff hydraulic steering lines and an EBC Racing big brake kit complete a package that’s built to perform under the immense demands of professional drifting.

Interior

Inside, the GR Corolla has been stripped back and rebuilt with competition firmly in mind. A Sparco Circuit II bucket seat and six-point harness keep Baggsy securely planted during high-speed transitions, while both plumbed-in and handheld Sparco fire extinguishers provide essential safety. Every unnecessary gram has been removed, leaving behind a purposeful cockpit focused entirely on driving. It’s a reminder that despite its jaw-dropping looks, this is first and foremost a competition machine.

See It at TRAX

Fresh from its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Baggsy’s incredible GR Corolla will be making its next major appearance at TRAX at Silverstone on 16 August. The car will take centre stage as part of the Drift Kings demonstrations, giving fans the opportunity to see and hear this 1,100bhp monster doing exactly what it was built to do. Pictures can only tell part of the story. Watching Baggsy throw this outrageous GR Corolla sideways, limiter bouncing and flames erupting from the bonnet-exit exhaust, promises to be one of the standout moments of TRAX 2026. If you want to experience one of the most talked-about drift builds of the year in action, make sure you don’t miss it.
