They were common in the ’00s, but nowadays a ‘flip-out’ single DIN screen from one of the larger manufacturers is a rare and beautiful thing.
That’s probably because most audio firms tend to concentrate on more high-end, modern cars for their all-singing, all-dancing multimedia units. And most of these motors have a doubleDIN recess.
This does neglect older cars where a big screen is all but impossible to fit without serious hassle and expense though (think Mk1 Audi TT, VW Beetle and Mk5 Vauxhall Astra).
However this puppy sorts the fitting problem and it comes with all the trademark, 21st-century Pioneer tech too. A 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth Connectivity, Apple/ Android compatibility, 13-band graphic EQ, time alignment and more.
Most of all though, props for bringing the humble flip-out up to date.
