Forge Motorsport adds ‘hard’ boost pipe kit for the F55/F56/F57 Mini Cooper S…

It’s all too easy to take certain aspects of your engine for granted, particularly if the parts in question can’t quite match up to the likes of aftermarket turbos, free-flowing manifolds and Blow Off Valves in terms of pub-boast potential!

Things like boost pipes are a case in point and are often being overlooked and ignored…until they fail in spectacular fashion. Forge Motorsport is well placed to fix issues like this before they become serious, which explains why it has just released a replacement boost hose kit for the Mini Cooper & Cooper S, specifically the F55, F56 and F57 model code cars.

Highly regarded and well developed as it undoubtedly is, the Cooper S has been shown to have a number of niggles, one of the most annoying being the relative weakness of its OEM boost pipes, particularly on cars running boost levels above those prescribed by BMW. These have been known to fracture and split, and when this occurs all out failure is only a matter of time.

This is precisely the kind of OEM issue which Forge Motorsport is well placed to rectify, not least as it has been producing aftermarket BMW Mini parts for decades now. The company’s all new solution is a comprehensive one, with the primary component being a trio of aluminium ‘hardpipes’ and CNC machined couplers. Said pipes have been carefully contoured so that they mimic the route traced by the stock Mini equivalents, while also reducing the overall number of joins present in the system, further reducing the chances of pipe failure. The internals of the pipes themselves have even been smoothed to provide optimised internal flow, an important consideration on tuned Coopers.

The kit ships with everything required for a straightforward installation process, while the black powder-coated finish lends it a mean, moody look, and also ensures that neither the pipes nor the silicone hoses look out of place.
