The Hennessey H700 Corvette upgrade package boosts the regular C8’s power output by 44%! Here’s all the details on this new Z06-beater.

In its stock form, the mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette C8 features a naturally aspirated V8 engine, good for 495PS and 465lb ft of torque. However, Texan tuning company Hennessey decided that wasn’t enough. So, they’ve added a big ol’ supercharger into the mix.

Now, the Corvette’s 6.2-litre LT2 block makes a whopping 718PS and 638lb ft – a 44% increase in horsepower and a 37% increase in torque! Of course, those sorts of gains required more than just a centrifugal supercharger to achieve. The Hennessey H700 Corvette package also includes an upgraded air induction system & intercooler, as well as an enhanced cat-back exhaust.

A little while ago, the freshly-released Chevrolet Corvette Z06 broke the internet thanks to its LT6 flat-plane crank V8, accompanying exotic exhaust note, and supercar-rivalling handling traits. This Hennessey perhaps can’t match the Z06 dynamically, as it still mostly uses the standard Stingray running gear. However, its newly injected muscle does just about eclipse the Z06’s power output figures.

So, if you were left jarred by the launch of the new hybrid Corvette E-Ray or Dodge’s ‘EV exhaust’, this car should be the full-fat V8 tonic you need.

Hennessey H700 Corvette package pricing

To get your hands on the Hennessey H700 Corvette upgrade package, you’ll already need to own a standard C8 to act as the base car. The ‘power-only’ package, which only includes the supercharger, is priced at $34,950. Meanwhile, the full H700 collection (including intercooler, lightweight alloy rims, cat-back exhaust, and Hennessey graphics) will set you back $49,950.

John Hennessey, founder and CEO of the company, said: “The stock C8 Corvette Stingray is an extraordinary sports car, yet Chevrolet left some V8 performance on the table.

“Our exciting ‘H700’ supercharger package integrates seamlessly with the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and our exhaust upgrade sounds much more aggressive than stock. Considering that our power and torque surpass the factory Z06, the Hennessey ‘H700’ is arguably the best value high-performance supercar in the world.”

Quite a claim there, John, especially when you’re charging 35 grand for a supercharger alone. Anyway, regardless of the price, you’ve got to admit that this new beefed-up Corvette is a very cool thing indeed. Happily, Hennessey has even released some footage of the car on track, so, turn up your volume, and enjoy the video below.
