Want to modify your new BMW 5 Series look like an M5? Well, you’re in luck. BMW has launched a series of M Performance parts just for you.

As the aftermarket industry continues to provide individualization for car owners, OEM manufacturers have sat back and thought “how can we get in on the action?” One of those manufacturers, BMW, has done more than most to accommodate owners who are looking for upgrades while retaining the vehicle’s warranty.

BMW has been offering M Performance parts for a number of years now. The catalogue offers an array of products to spruce up the look of your car. Best of all, it doesn’t matter whether you’ve got a base model or a full blown M model, either.

The latest model to get a host of upgrades is the incoming BMW 5 Series and i5. Believe it or not, you can equip your BMW 5 Series with enough carbon fiber to make an M5 owner jealous. From side skirts, rear diffuser, front splitter, lip spoiler and more, you can transform your 520i into something that looks far more aggressive.

Carbon fiber fuel filler cap? Yep. Carbon mirror caps? Yes sir. Carbon gear selector? You betcha. Some might argue it’s going too far, but Fast Car has been advocates of the extraordinary since the ’80s, so we say the more the better.

For those who argue its all aesthetics, listen to this. You can get your hands on a range of lightweight alloy wheels to save some precious weight, these range from 19-21 inches. You can also purchase lighter M Performance brakes, which come finished in red, just so people know you’ve spent the extra money. They’re internally ventilated rotors which help fight against heat build up. BMW says this delivers “higher breaking power under extreme conditions, for example on a race track.” Kudos to whoever is taking their BMW 5 Series on track.

What about if I want to make my BMW G60 5 Series faster?

Sadly, what aren’t listed are any performance upgrades. Don’t expect to fit your car with a new, freer-flowing exhaust, or coilovers, for example. Don’t worry, the aftermarket will support this.

All of these new M Performance parts for the G60 5 Series will be available from October.
