When we talk about modified cars, Italian exotics are rarely our focus, but this coachbuilt Ferrari Breadvan takes the biscuit!

Inspired by the 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan, this Ferrari Breadvan is based on a 550 Maranello and built by London-based Neils van Roij Design.

While underneath 99% the mechanicals remain from the base Ferrari 550 Maranello, including the 5.5-litre V12 and six-speed manual box, on the outside almost everything is entirely bespoke. The only mechanical change comes in the form of adjustable Koni shock absorbers, which also happens to be the same brand that created the shocks for the 1962 race car that inspires this coach build.

The Ferrari Breadvan Hommage body is made entirely of hand-beaten aluminium with a Kammback, an aerodynamic design that reduces drag and featured on the 1962 racer.

Inside, as you’d expect, has been completely overhauled with blue Alcantara seats, quilted leather around the centre console and aluminium switchgear, all of which is handmade or hand-beaten.

Sadly this is just a one-off car built for a client and we wouldn’t like to know how much said project would cost, either. It’s not the first custom design Neils van Roij Design has undertaken, with it previously creating a Telsa Model S Shooting Brake and a two-door Range Rover called the Adventum.
