GT-R is perhaps the most revered Japanese automotive nameplate of them all. So, here are some of the best Nissan Skylines at Japfest 2023

As part of our Japfest 2023 coverage, we wanted to highlight some of the core hero cars from the land of the rising sun. So, where better to start than with the Nissan Skyline GT-R?

Nicknamed Godzilla, these powerful coupes were real beasts even when they rolled fresh off the factory floor. And, as we’ve seen over the past few decades, they can go berserk when left in the custodianship of daring tuners. In fact, while we’re on the subject, why not check out our favorite GT-R feature cars from the Fast Car archives…

Anyway, since Japfest is the UK’s biggest Japanese modified car show, there was a large contingent of GT-Rs, GT-Ts, and everything in between. Several – including a Midnight Purple R34 and wide-arched yellow example – won favor amongst our judges when the time came to hand out our Best in Show awards, and they weren’t the only ones. An immaculately built R32 (which you’ll be able to spot in the upcoming Fast X movie), also went home with a fetching rosette.

Elsewhere, R35 owner’s group Battalion 30-five brought an impressive fleet with them; impressive enough to win the award for ‘Best One-Make Club’.

However, if you were to look beyond the cars that stole the headlines, you’d find a whole wave of ’90s Skylines and new-age GT-Rs dotted all across the Silverstone site. So, since we’re feeling nice, we’ve done the (literal) legwork and compiled a bunch of them into one big gallery for you to drool over below. Don’t say we never treat you…

Did we miss your car at the show? Or is your Skyline/GT-R good enough for a feature on the site? Get in touch with some specs and images!
