MS-RT has announced a limited-edition version of its QVM-approved Ford Transit Custom conversion, it’s called the MS-RT R185.
The mad van uses styling and tech from Ford’s works rally team to produce the R185 in its factory in Pontypool, South Wales.
It’s based on the Transit Custom DCIV 5-seat double cab and comes in Slate Grey, which is a unique colour from Ford. The company also adds red and black rally decals and a unique radiator grille featuring a red flash. Neat.
It also gets bi-xenon headlamps, advanced driver assistance systems including adaptive cruise control, a rear camera, 230v power inverter and a lift-up tailgate.
OZ 18 inch alloys are used and finished in black, along with a full carbon-fibre steering wheel with red centre line and stitching as well as a red-stitched leather interior, plus gloss black exhaust tips.
Speaking of which, the team uses a Maxhaust system, which instead of making it loud on the outside, is an app that delivers the sound of a sports exhaust through the van’s speakers.
The MS-RT R185 comes with a three-year, 100,000-mile warranty, while both short and long wheelbase variants are available, with a choice of manual or automatic transmission. Prices start from £37,995.
MS-RT Founding Director, Edward Davies, said: “The MS-RT Transit Custom has already been a huge success and we’ve developed the R185 in response to customer demand for something even more bespoke. The limited-edition model is sure to sell out very quickly and become an icon among fans of the MS-RT brand.”
