The world’s biggest tyre distributors descended on the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, home of the Portuguese F1 Grand Prix, to test the new Protoura Sport tyre from Davanti on a fleet of high-powered cars, including an Alpine a110, Mercedes-AMG E53, CLA45, GT and a Honda Civic Type R.
The Davanti tyre test event gave them a unique chance to test Protoura Sport’s ability to challenge established premium brand Ultra-igh performance (UHP) tyres when judged on intense, high speed performance. They were able to experience the additional cornering bite of the ribbed serrated shoulder block edges and the sure-footedness of the maximised contact area.

By giving our global partners the opportunity to drive at a single event in multiple cars with very different handling characteristics, they are able to make up their own minds about Protoura Sport’s capabilities.” Said Davanti Tyres Development Director Gary Cross.
Guests were also able to draw on the expertise of former World Superbike racer – and Autódromo Racing School Director – Miguel Praia. “I’ve taken them out myself, and as a former pro racer I understand the importance of tyres to the driving experience – Protoura Sport is easily one of the best on the market today.”
