QUESTION ABOUT COVID-19?
Will Japfest 2021 be going ahead?
We are closely monitoring the situation with the current outbreak of COVID-19 and its impact on our events. We are proceeding cautiously in 2021 but will be reviewing in the coming months as the situation develops. We will be working alongside Silverstone Circuit and Local Authorities with the latest safety advice to ensure we are able to plan the safest and most enjoyable event possible.
What if the Event cannot go ahead?
In today’s uncertain climate, if the Event is not able to go ahead on this date due to COVID-19, we will happily refund your ticket purchase in full. Your refund would be processed automatically via your method of original payment.
Will you refund the booking fee?
Yes, we will refund your full booking amount, including the booking fee and Booking Protect fee if applicable.
Can I credit my booking to a future event, or something else?
Yes, of course, just let us know if that is your preferred option. We will be happy to transfer your booking to a future event, either the same show or another in our calendar. We are also happy to credit your ticket purchase against a magazine subscription, you can see all our products here.
What if we have already purchased a ticket for 2020?
If you had purchased tickets for the 2020 event your booking will be automatically carried forward into 2021, you do not need to do anything. You will receive an email from us closer to the event with your updated ticket. However, you can instead be refunded if this is your preference, by creating a ticket here.
What will you be doing to keep us safe?
Understandably, we all have heightened awareness for the environment around us and want to know that the venues that we are visiting have put in place precautionary measures for COVID-19. We are working closely with Silverstone Circuit, adopting new processes and procedures to adhere to Government guidelines where necessary. The health and safety of our visitors, clubs, commercial partners and team is our priority and we can assure you that we everything we do is to maintain the safest environment possible.
Will there be any other changes to the event in terms of content or timings?
In order to keep everyone safe, we’re keen to reduce crowds and gatherings of people around the event. Although we do not plan to hold a Live Action Arena, there will be a host of demonstrations and new displays on track, with plenty of opportunity around the site to watch the action throughout the day.
We will also be celebrating our loyal club members and those within our Special Display areas by awarding more prizes and trophies than ever before. We’ll be celebrating some key Japanese vehicles throughout the event including the 35 years of the Honda display and 25 years of the Integra along with our special feature displays and more!
It will be necessary for us to adapt the event to comply with Government guidelines at the time, so the event might look different to previous years. We will be working hard to bring the high-speed track action and spectacular displays that Japfest is famous for. We will be relying on you to help us comply with the restrictions and any necessary new rules that we have put in place.
Will we be able to book tracktime?
Yes, we will be booking people into our track sessions as usual. There might be changes to the way that we conduct the briefings, or restrictions on passenger tickets, but we are working with Silverstone Circuit to ensure that we can run our track activity in the safest way possible.
Will you still be selling camping tickets?
Yes, we will be working with our usual campsite Whittlebury Park to offer you the chance to extend your weekend and camp with your friends, family or club. We may need to make some adaptations to the layout or bring in additional facilities to keep you safe, but we will be following the latest Government advice where necessary. If at the time of the event overnight stays are not permitted, we will happily refund your camping tickets.
Shall I book a hotel?
Any additional booking for travel or accommodation are booked at your own risk. We are not able to offer any refunds for anything beyond your full ticket purchase, so we recommend that you check the cancelation policy with your operator before booking.
