QUESTION ABOUT COVID-19?

What are you doing to keep visitors to Ford Fair safe?
The health and safety of our visitors, clubs, commercial partners and team remains our highest priority. We are working alongside Silverstone Circuit with the relevant authorities including Public Health England and the local agencies to ensure we have all the necessary policies and procedures to deliver a COVID safe event.
An enhanced cleaning regime is in place in all public and back of house areas, hand sanitiser is available around the site, and we’ll be carrying Hands | Face | Space reminders around the site.
All our staff, contractors, suppliers and others working on the event are required to wear a face mask and take a daily Lateral Flow Test throughout the event, and are strongly encouraged to continue observing social distancing.

We’re all responsible for stopping the spread of COVID-19 so please:

  • Wash your hands regularly (with soap and warm water for 20 seconds)
  • Use the hand sanitiser provided frequently – especially after touching surfaces (we recommend you bring your own hand sanitiser too)
  • Maintain good hygiene
  • Follow any one-way signage
  • Use the test and trace app, and
  • We strongly encourage you to wear a face covering particularly in crowded spaces such as the trade areas and display paddocks, as well as indoor settings.

Please play your part and respect others around you.

Will I need to wear a face covering?
We do strongly encourage you to wear a face covering, particularly in crowded spaces such as the trade areas and display paddocks, as well as indoor settings. However, this is a personal choice and there will be no requirement to wear a face covering.

Will social distancing be in place for Ford Fair?
Following the UK Government’s announcement of the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions from the 19th July, there will be no requirement to follow social distancing rules while at the event.
However, we want everyone involved to feel safe and comfortable while attending Ford Fair so please be sensitive and respectful of others around you.

Will I need to show proof of a double vaccination and/ or a negative lateral flow test result?
Due to Silverstone being an outdoor venue covering a large area and with plenty of wide open spaces at Ford Fair, it’s not considered a high-risk setting therefore there will be no requirement to show proof of a double vaccination and/ or a negative lateral flow test result. We will continue to monitor the situation and if this guidance changes, we’ll provide an update at the earliest opportunity.

However, we do strongly encourage you to consider taking a lateral flow test in advance of the event to help keep you and others as safe as possible at the event.

How do I obtain a Lateral Flow Test?
There are three options for accessing free lateral flow tests:
1. Order to your home address via the gov.uk website
2. Pick up from your local chemist – use the NHS test and trace website to find your nearest pick-up point

Close contacts have to isolate for 10 days irrespective of their own test results, therefore should leave the event immediately and follow advice from test and trace. Changes to self-isolation rules for fully vaccinated people do not come into effect until 16 August.

If you are unable to attend the event for this reason you will need to contact us here and we will roll your ticket over to 2022 or an alternative event in 2021. International ticket holders are advised to follow existing international travel guidance here, and must abide by any quarantine requirements. There are no exemptions for event spectators.

What if the Event cannot go ahead?
In today’s uncertain climate, if the Event is not able to go ahead on this date due to COVID-19, we will happily refund your ticket purchase in full. Your refund would be processed automatically via your method of original payment, including your booking fee.

Will there be any other changes to the event in terms of content or timings?
In order to keep everyone safe, we’re keen to reduce crowds and gatherings of people around the event. Although we do not plan to hold a Live Action Arena, there will be a host of demonstrations and new displays on track, with plenty of opportunity around the site to watch the action throughout the day.

We will also be celebrating our loyal club members and those within our Special Display areas by awarding more prizes and trophies than ever before. We’ll be honouring key anniversaries within the Ford market including 35 years of Cosworth Fords and 35 years of the Series Two Escort RS Turbo, watch out for the Top 10 awards throughout the show for these key models on display.

It will be necessary for us to adapt the event to comply with Government guidelines at the time, so the event might look different to previous years. We will be working hard to bring the high-speed track action and spectacular displays that Ford Fair is famous for. We will be relying on you to help us comply with the restrictions and any necessary new rules that we have put in place.

Will you still be selling camping tickets?
Yes, we will be working with our usual campsite Whittlebury Park to offer you the chance to extend your weekend and camp with your friends, family or club. We may need to make some adaptations to the layout or bring in additional facilities to keep you safe, but we will be following the latest Government advice where necessary. If at the time of the event overnight stays are not permitted, we will happily refund your camping tickets.

Shall I book a hotel?
Any additional booking for travel or accommodation are booked at your own risk. We are not able to offer any refunds for anything beyond your full ticket purchase, so we recommend that you check the cancelation policy with your operator before booking.
