There’s a new project car on the Fast Car fleet and a rather fast one at that. Say hello to Glenn’s new Audi RS4 B7….

For months, in fact make that the last year, I’ve been constantly changing my mind over what to do with my Audi A6 C5 Avant. In all honesty not a lot has changed to it in the last few years and I was all set on doing a revamp, changing the wheels and the wrap. But I just never really got going with it, as what time I have spent modifying this year has gone into the competition Honda S2000.

Anyway, the other day I was doing my usual dreaming and dribbling over Audi RS4 B7 Avants. You know, watching videos on YouTube, checking the classifieds, and then I saw it, a car that gave me that fuzzy feeling inside, the old ‘I have to have that car’ feeling. And before I knew it, I’d messaged the dealer, he’d replied and I was days away from a test drive and possibly owning a car I’ve wanted for a very long time.

However, in true Glenda fashion, I hadn’t put any real thought into whether I could afford to buy an RS4, let alone afford to run one. But it was too late and I’d fallen for its big arches, 19-inch wheels, Recaro wing-back seats and that gorgeous 4.2 V8 engine. But rather than do the sensible and slightly boring thing of ringing around for insurance quotes, looking into finance and where the deposit was going to come from, I just went straight into looking into potential mods and putting together my wish of parts.

Eventually I got a hit from the sensible stick (also known as the Missus) and thought, if I am really serious about this I’d better do some maths, as I didn’t want to be one those daydreamers wasting a car dealer’s time.

So I crunched some numbers, worked out what deposit I could stretch to and dropped the dealer, Jamie at JCB Automotive, a message to see what finance he could arrange. He couldn’t have been more helpful and after a short phone call, barring the test-drive, we were good to go.

And as you can probably guess from the pictures and this update the test drive went rather well. Yep, I am now the proud owner of an Audi RS4 B7 Avant. And a very good one at that. She’s only had two owners from new, one of which had a lot of supercars and kept her garaged, she’s only done 56,000 miles and comes with a full Audi dealer service history. So a big thanks again to Jamie at JCB Automotive for such great service.

So what’s happening my with A6 C5 Avant? Well I think it’s time to sell her on. She’s just passed the MoT with flying colours, has new tyres and as good as new wheels (only done 100 miles since their refurb). So if you’re after a cool looking Avant, with 19-inch wheels, air-ride, a nice install and some crazy-big brakes drop me a mail on glenn.rowswell@kelseymedia.co.uk!

Anyway, first off it’s time to start making a wish list of mods. Hmmm… decisions, decisions…
