Dean Postlethwaite’s stanced Honda Integra DC2

When it comes to rolling rude, the first rule is to get friendly with the floor. Static hard-slammed status though is another entire level of hardcore, reserved for those with the bigger cahoonas in our scene.

As it happens, Dean Postlethwaite is chilling right now in this badass brave lounge, as his 215bhp Jap import DC2 dressed in Spoon and Mugen goodies sits permanently attached to the terra firma.

As the theme of this month suggests, Stroud geeza Dean drives his JDM Integra daily, despite the utterly nutty static drop meaning he ends up taking bits of the road with him on his travels.

It bloody well works as a head turner too: plenty of petrolheads give the thumbs up as they drive past the hard slammed and stanced DC2 en route to the FC shoot, while the pram brigade just shit themselves as a sideshow of sparks and scraping noises follow the ‘Teg through town.

Dean admits there are a couple of flaws to rolling so god-damn hard in the UK, but as our pictures show, it’s definitely worth it: “I’ve had a few scrapes in my time. I even had to chop the lower Mugen centre box so it could actually drive in the first place!”

After being refused a bank loan for a new Civic, Honda scene-freak Dean stumbled   across this DC2 three years ago – six months after it arrived off the boat in Blighty.

Dean dressed the ‘Teg with nothing but JDM goodness, finished off with the rare 114.3 fitment BBS RSs sitting pretty after a full rebuild including new bolts, alloy dishes and gold painted centres.

The drop is taken care of by super low Meister R coilies, while impressive Skunk2 rear camber arms nail the stance. “It was a bit
higher at Japfest in May,” the self-employed plumber says, “but I saw cars that were lower, so I went down another 5mm, and to be honest it just finished the look off.”

We couldn’t agree more: in our scene where air-ride and hydraulics are getting more popular amongst daily driven motors, we give Dean two thumbs fresh for sporting a sexy ride on static hard slam, driven daily, just as it should be. Top darts.
