Over 18,000 fans and more than 4,000 club cars packed into Silverstone for the UK’s biggest and best Ford event.

Now in its 31st year, Ford Fair continues to be the ‘must attend’ event for anyone involved in the Ford scene, and this year it was as lively as ever, with scores of features to keep fans of the Blue Oval enthralled.

Among them were a Masterclass and Demo show with renowned stunt driver, Paul Swift, where a few selected lucky winners got to learn how to do a J-turn in the Live Action Arena. The show also saw track laps from some of the UK’s fastest Fords, invited by the team at Fast Ford magazine, as well as a lap of the iconic circuit from a selection of Classic Fords that were present on the day.

One lucky winner also got the chance to go out on track with BTCC driver Aron Smith, behind the wheel of Auto Specialists’ time attack Mk3 Focus RS.

Once again, the event was sponsored by aftermarket Ford specialists, mountune. The tuning and parts specialist had a host of performance cars and famous faces on its stand, and in action on the day, including former BTCC champion and Motorbase Performance/Pirtek Racing’s Andrew Jordan.

Phil Weeden, our big boss man and Ford Fair head honcho said: “Yet again, Ford Fair proved itself to be the most popular and unmissable event in the Ford calendar, with great attendance and some fine cars on display, from modified moderns to cosseted classics. There’s so much variety in the Ford scene, and this is the show that brings all that variety together.”

How right he was, as that variety was never more apparent than among the event’s prize winners. The Top club Stand award went to Fiesta Red & Black, with an astonishing 41 cars on display, while the best wheels award went to Paul Linfoot for his ex-Graham Goode BTCC Sierra Cosworth.

Ben Walker’s Ford Fiesta won the Show and Shine (sponsored by Autoperfekt), while the ‘Homebuilt Heroes’ award (sponsored by Burton Power) went to Danny Vincent for his Anglia 100E.

There were also a number of concours awards, with the top prizes for best standard and modified car going to Edd Owers (standard) for his Mk 3 Fiesta RS Turbo, and Colin Stone (modified) for his Mk 3 Escort RS Turbo.

After the success of Ford Fair, fans of the Blue Oval will be delighted to know that there’s still one more major event in the Ford calendar for 2016, with Ford Fest taking place at Santa Pod, Beds, on September 18.
