Mathias Arron’s modified Peugeot 207

Belgium-based Arron has a bit of passion for Peugeots. After cutting his modifying teeth on a 306 with a set of lowering springs and some rims, everything was fine. But soon his daily commute to work took its toll and he wanted to upgrade to something a bit sportier.

Sticking loyal to the Peugeot brand, he picked up a standard 207 which ticked all the right boxes. Promising himself he would leave the car unmolested, Mathias drove it for a short while before giving into his modifying roots. Lowering springs and a set of rims soon found their way onto the Pug and Mathias started experimenting by smoothing the standard bumpers.

In mid 2009 Mathias was shipped off to Afghanistan for work. For most of us, juggling an everyday job with modifying our motors is as easy as peas, but when you’re based in Afghanistan and your motor is back in Belgium things get a little more difficult! Even when Mathias was out dodging bullets and saving the world he still managed to find time to sort out the 207. During his spare time he scoured the net for a suitable bodyshop that would take on the task of transforming the Peugeot into his ultimate vision.

Four months into his tour and it was agreed the car would be shipped off to Kris at Car Tuning Point. Having already sourced the Ecosse Oxyde front and rear bumpers Kris could work his magic on the 207. A set of Auto Style skirts were fitted up and blended into the body. All the badges have been removed along with the bump strips numberplate recess and washer jets. When it came to paint, Mathias turned to Lexus for inspiration. Every inch of the car has been dressed in Lexus brown and it literally pops alive whenever the sun hits it.

With the exterior up to scratch it was time to sort an interior. Mathias gave Ashot from Gharibyan upholstery a call and the car was booked in. From front to back the interior has been wrapped in brown leather and suede. Door cards, roof lining, seats and glove box have been covered to complement the exterior.

With the car almost finished Mathias didn’t want to risk the immaculate bodywork by damaging it on the many speed bumps and potholes that litter the road on his daily commute. During the winter months he slowly built up a collection of air-ride parts, ordered straight to his door from America.

As an F-16 technician for the Belgian Military he had no qualms when it came to getting stuck in and taking on the installation himself. The compressors and tank have neatly been installed around a single 12-inch Fusion sub located in the boot. A secondhand set of staggered fitment 8×17-inch and 8.5×17-inch 2-piece RH ZW3 rims were sent off to Concept-Wheels for a refurb. Sporting new fully polished dishes and wrapped in Falken rubber, the rims get tucked up under the rolled arches every time he dumps the air and plants the Peugeot to the tarmac.

Wanting to be economical, Mathias was picky with performance mods. A Forge FMIC, induction kit and remap have provided enough poke, but means he avoids regular visits to the fuel pumps. We like your style, Mathias.
