Glenda’s Honda Integra DC2 – Part 15
Ever since I’ve owned the DC2 I’ve hated the exhaust. I know it’s 5Zigen 304 border exhaust (these are pretty sought after), but I think it looks a bit pants and sounds too loud with the B18 lump.
So I thought it was time for a change. Now when it comes to getting an aftermarket exhaust there’s plenty of off the shelf choice out there. But I always go the custom route and only ever go to one company. Yep, you’ve guessed it, Welsh Coast Customs.
Not only do they always do an awesome job (in fact this is the fifth exhaust I’ve had done there), but they always tailor my system to exactly how I want it. Plus as they use parts from Powerflow the exhaust comes with a lifetime guarantee for the buyer.
This time round I went for a straight-through 21⁄4-inch pipe, with a 170mm oval backbox and 2-inch rolled lip tailpipe. And, as I always have a lot of issues with ground clearance, the system has been tucked up high so there’s minimal scrapping and damage on speed bumps.
So is it good? Nope, it’s better than that, it’s awesome! Not only does it look a millions times better, it sounds great and means my B18 is singing again. Especially when it’s ‘VTEC-yo baby’ time. Happy days my friend!
