Modified Mk6 Ford Fiesta
Euro Style Mk6 Ford Fiesta
Euro style cars are still anything but tired – especially when coupled with bold touches, like detailing parts in pink.
“I was never really a big fan of Mk.6 Fiestas. They all look very similar, and run the same kind of wheels. Ok, maybe they are not the easiest car to make look good, but I think I have got there now with mine,” grins Tom. “If I’m totally honest, when I first started messing with mine. I was treating it as a bit of a joke.”
A few mods started to filter their way onto it and Tom and the Mk.6 were soon getting attention at the shows and meets. This encouraged Tom to push the Euro boat out and see where he ended up. Bonnet bra and roof chequers are optional but wheels are the cornerstone of any Euro-style ride. “I got the Schmidt wheels from a lad who had them and said they wouldn’t fit a Fiesta. It was worth a try,” Tom laughed. As they’re 8-inch on the front and 8.5-inch on the rear, there’s no getting away from the fact they are a squeeze.
Clearance is aided by a tidy stretch on the tyres. The 195 wide Toyos have been pulled over the 8.5-inch width. Coupled with a floorpanscraping 110mm drop on the Weitec suspension, it sets the theme off to a flying start. It looks fresh and on the rear is a naughty looking 2.7 degrees of negative camber. Even if you’re not a Euro fan, you have to admire these wheels and stance.
The bodywork was refreshed with some ST kit and a dose of discreet smoothing and de-locking. And as if it wasn’t already a big enough threat to speed humps, a Focus RS splitter was made to fit.
“With the reaction it got at the first few shows I wanted to clean it all up and do it properly – but I also wanted to do things a bit different and to turn a few heads,” Tom explains. “That’s why I have all the random pink bits. I pulled the lights apart and painted them up. It’s just about the little touches.”
The pink and silver is bold, but it works. It’s a good job too. The pink has spread as far as the pink dice and Ford badge on the inside, right down to the ST brake callipers.
