Swinton R33 Winner Revealed
Lucky Andrew scoops the Swinton Specialist R33 Skyline
Chrimbo has deffo come early for one petrolhead, and that petrolhead is Andrew Hall, who has been revealed as the lucky winner of Swinton Specialist’s awesome 2009 ‘win-a-project-car’ competition.
His prize is a Nissan Skyline R33 2.6-litre twin-turbo, that was specially imported from Japan and is worth more than £10,000. Lucky git eh?
But that’s not all. He also takes home a spanky £2,000 to spend on mods, plus a year’s free insurance courtesy of Swinton Specialist.
“I got the call and I thought it was a wind-up!” Andrew commented. “But then I remembered the competition had been mentioned when I called Swinton Specialist for a quote on my current car – which I actually took up because it was cheaper than my renewal.”
And with a four-year-old Subaru Impreza WRX STi already on the drive, lucky Andrew now has quite a car collection.
He’s already planning what to spend his Skyline mods money on, with a dump valve, a high-end ICE and entertainment system and a set of gauges all top of his shopping list.
Rob Asher, head honcho at Swinton Specialist told us: “We’re delighted for Andrew and wish him an enjoyable future with the Skyline. As a confirmed petrolhead already, I’m sure he’ll have great fun with it.”
The 2009 ‘win-a-project-car’ competition is the third of its type staged by Swinton Specialist, but the R33 has been the most popular comp yet, with over 75,000 entries.
So a big well done to Andrew on winning the car, who we’ll catch up with soon to see how he’s getting on with those mods.
