It Began Life As An Ordinary Corsa C 1.2 SXI
Make: Vauxhall
Model: CORSA SXI
It began life as an ordinary Corsa C 1.2 SXI. The most noticeable feature of the car is the paintwork. Sprayed in Barrow using red and black glitter and holographic fibres over a black base coat. It took 3 weeks to complete and 30 coats of lacquer to get smooth. The holographic fibres catch the sunlight producing the rainbow effect. Under the bonnet is a 2 litre turbo Z20LET from a Zafira GSI, fitted with a 9 litre intercooler an Astra 2 litre turbo radiator, a Ramair induction kit, and a Bailey external dump valve. Stainless steel pipework and red Samco hoses are used to connect it all together. The car also has an E-Tec strut brace to improve handling. For extra power the intercooler has a CO2 spray bar fitted, to cool the inlet charge. The CO2 can also be purged through the vents fitted to the standard bonnet, and illuminated by red LEDs. The car sits on fully adjustable Coilovers which are set to give a 30mm drop. Because of the engine swap, the car needed Astra Coilovers at the front and Corsa Coilovers at the back. The wheels are 18″ Ace chromes fitted with low profile Toyo tyres. New sleeves have been fitted in the wheel arches to allow the new wheels to fit. The front brakes are 284mm Red Dot disks with High Spec 4 pot callipers and EBC Green Stuff pads. The rear still has the standard Corsa drum brakes. Fitting the engine, suspension and callipers took a month.
