Louis James’ Modified Peugeot 306
Unless you’re filthy rich and caked in money, times are pretty hard for everyone. But the theory that you need a lot of money to build a cool car has never been more wrong than when it comes to Louis James and his stunning modified Peugeot 306. Just because you’re on a budget, doesn’t mean you have to skimp. Nope, it just means you have to be smarter in the way you do things, as Louis proves.
Fortunately for Louis, not only did he build this whole car himself from the ground up to save the pennies, but he’s also a part of the Xquisite Automotive crew, who are known for churning out continuously cool cars, time after time. With inspiration like that we always knew Louis’ Pug was going to be a hit.
He’s only 20 and this being his first car, it’s been an ongoing project for the last three years; it all kicked off the day the mechanical side of things went tits up and left Louis needing a new engine. After dropping in a newer and bigger XSi lump, it was time to get his hands mucky on the bodywork; but first needed new wheels.
After looking overseas for inspiration, Louis settled on some rather tasty 16in Keskin KT1 wheels with a rather brave 9-inch wide rear. Having not seen them anywhere near a French car before, Louis was determined to get them on, and added some stretched Falken tyres and flared arches along the way to help the cause. Once things started looking good, the car was lowered slightly to look better, but still be a drivable daily car.
