A huge glass roof and permanent four wheel drive sets the new 911 Targa models apart from its Porsche stablemates. It still looks toit as anything, though.
The entire glass roof on the new Targa models opens in only seven seconds, and moves back about half a metre. The roof can be operated at any driving speed, too, so you're not limited to the "stop and close" thing the convertibles are suffering from.
The Targa 4 is powered by the familiar 3.6-litre six cylinder engine delivering 325 bhp. It accelerates the car from 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 174mph. The more powerful S variant features a 3.8-litre engine producing 355 bhp. This model sprints to 62mph in 4.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 179mph.
The 911 Targa 4 and 4S go on sale on November 18 priced from £70,320, including full leather interior, top tinted windscreen and Porsche Driving Experience programme.
If I had money to burn and any hair on my head to feel the wind blow through, this'd definitely be the car I'd go for.
