EMMA UK NEWS

EMMA UK at ISTS 5-6th April 2008

EMMA comes to Donny

Despite the poop weather at Donny, EMMA had a great turnout with some very competitive classes.  Thank cripes the event organisers provided some indoor cover with a pit garage.

As well as attracting lots of interest in ESPL, there were entry level SQ competitors for the first time as EMMA continues to attract increasing numbers of stalwart competitors.

The judging teams were excellent and got through the judging process with great efficiency, allowing the prize giving before 4PM on both days, nice one. Saturday’s winners were presented on the Vibe stand which meant not only a handshake from some baldy man, but also got a kiss from the beautiful Vibe girls – bonus.

As you know the EMMA Competition is about raising standards. Competitors are freely given advice from all sorts of experts both industry and from elsewhere and when this is put into practice, we normally find that a car does better in its next outing. This could involve a simple tweak of existing equipment or a slight change of speaker placement and many competitors from last month’s event improved their scores by taking advice on board. So well done.

Our season climaxes with the European finals and we need to ensure that our competitors go there with a good chance of lifting trophies against very strong European competition.

The non-exclusive nature of EMMA brings manufacturers, distributors, dealers and the general public to the same place with the same goals which made for a fantastic atmosphere and provided a good forum for sharing ideas and experiences. This weekend’s “newbies” left with their heads spinning with advice, new ideas and a strong determination to improve! Competitors cars also got to sit in an extremely high-profile location for the duration of the show.

The presence and position of EMMA added a whole bunch of rarely seen in public cars to the show and helped keep the brave and the freezing entertained!

Full results and league tables can all be viewed here.

A big thank you to all involved in the event, the sponsors and especially, the competitors.
