What is RSS?
RSS is a news feed from a website. RSS feeds allow you to stay up to date with the latest news and features. To subscribe to it, you will need a news reader or other similar device.
What is a news feed?
The Fast Car news feed lets you see when we’ve added new news stories to the website. So you can get all the latest Fast Car news all in one place, sorted. Basically, as soon as web monkey Glenda adds a story to Fast Car Online, you’ll know about it.
Now for those that give a shit, news feeds are known as RSS. This stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. See Fast Car isn’t just fun, you even learn shite you didn’t really need to know.
How do I use one?
First of all, you need a news reader. This software checks the Fast Car news feed and lets you read any new article that we’ve added. There a variety of versions, some use a browser, where as others are downloadable.
A browser based news reader will let you see new shizzle from any computer, whereas downloaded readers store stories on your computer. It’s pretty much the same as when you check your e-mail, simple.
Where do I get one from?
There are shite loads of news readers about and different operating systems need different news readers. What works on Window’s, might not work your Mac or Commodore 64 (that was joke by the way). Therefore you need to choose what is right for your computer.
